A Universal Brain Blocking Protocol for Efficient and Cost-Effective Diagnosis
This presentation describes an efficient and cost-effective brain blocking protocol which can be universally applied to the gross dissection of autopsy brain specimens irrespective of the suspected presence of neurodegenerative disease.
This protocol not only reduces the cost of work-up of known neurodegenerative disease cases but also mitigates the need to go ‘back to the bucket’ for additional sections when unsuspected neurodegenerative disease is encountered.
